Mercedes-Benz has released the test model of its upcoming new electric model EQT. Which is a small minivan class to remind us that the EQ branch is not exclusive to luxury sedans and SUVs
The upcoming T-Class is the passenger version of the Mercedes minivan that replaces the current Citan in markets such as Europe – although Benz retains the Citan name for commercial versions of the T-Class, slightly confusing.
Technically, the car, designed on the basis of the Renault Kangoo platform, will come with its new third-generation, having been refurbished last November. But the Mercedes design team enhanced the luxury quotient to differentiate the two cars.
The grid for the electric and EQs models shows the main, with a host of bright stars and a very impressive array of thin LED headlights that veer backward. Moving to the sides, after the flowing door handles, you reach a pair of eye-catching equal LED taillights connected to a lighted Strip under the rear window.
The 194.7-inch (4945 mm) truck features sliding doors on both sides that open wide enough to allow passengers easy access to the third row of seats, revealing white Nappa leather seats and a multifunctional steering wheel.
Discard the bright blue around the circular air vents and the console and the interior will look very ordinary in the wake of the new EQS and C-Class.
But this is still a commercial vehicle in its essence, and it certainly looks a better place to spend time than its Renault counterpart, especially since it runs an MBUX infotainment program and features a panoramic sunroof.
The technical details related to the car and the charging capacity are so minimal that they are practically invisible, but Mercedes assures that the T-class will definitely get the EV option along with the traditional gasoline and diesel options.
If you got the same technique EV revealed by Kangoo E-TECH last month, we can expect the battery 44 kWh provide a driving range WLTP inform 251 km, but it is possible to provide a Mercedes bigger battery.
In terms of fuel engines, there will probably be a choice of 1.3-liter gasoline and 1.5-liter diesel engines, both made by Renault.
